Dual Laminate Construction: When FRP Alone Is Not Enough

When process chemistry proves too aggressive for standard vinyl ester resins, dual laminate construction combines the chemical resistance of thermoplastic liners with the structural strength of fiberglass reinforcement.

Liners made from thermoplastics such as PVC, CPVC, PP, PVDF, E-CTFE, PFA, or FEP are thermoformed and welded, then overwrapped with structural FRP laminates to provide pressure containment and mechanical stiffness.

Dual laminate systems offer exceptional service life in severe environments involving hot concentrated acids, halogens, and aggressive organic compounds where standalone metals or FRP fall short.
