Jeff founded and has been leading Maverick Applied Science, Inc. since 1999.  Jeff is an international expert in nonmetallic equipment for corrosive applications in heavy industry.  Jeff has been specifying, designing, and inspection FRP and dual laminate equipment and piping systems for over 30 years.  Jeff currently leads the ASME Nonmetallic Pressure Piping Systems Standards (NPPS), Subcommittee for FRP Piping, a State-of-the-Art FRP standard, published in 2019.

Darryl joined Maverick Applied Science, Inc. in 2006 as a staff engineer.  Since that time, Darryl has steadily honed his expertise and is nationally recognized as a leader in the field of FRP piping and equipment.  Darryl currently leads the Engineering Division at Maverick Applied Science, Inc.  Additionally, Darryl is responsible for all materials testing and pipe support projects within the company.  Darryl is currently the Vice Chair for the ASME NM.2, Design Subgroup of the Subcommittee for FRP Piping.

Tom joined Maverick Applied Science in 2011 as an FRP Inspection Manager.  Tom has grown with the company.  Currently, Tom directs the Field Service Division for Maverick, which includes fabrication shop surveillance, plant maintenance assessment and site quality assurance during construction.  Having 25 years’ experience in the nonmetallic industry, Tom is well respected for his expertise throughout North America and has been a regular speaker at national and international conferences on nonmetallic equipment and corrosion management.  Tom is currently the Chair for the ASME NM.2, Fabrication and Erection Subgroup of the Subcommittee for FRP Piping.

Field Service Coordinator

Julie originally came to Maverick Applied Science, Inc. in an accounting and administrative role in 2017.  Julie has a tremendous work ethic with a mindset for service to others.  As the company has expanded, Julie was elevated to the Field Service Coordinator role in late 2018.  As Field Service Coordinator, Julie manages the logistics and deployment of our inspection and engineering staff for field assignments.  Additionally, Julie coordinates all necessary site pre-qualifications and site-specific training activities to ensure that field staff are equipped, prepared, and enabled for the field inspection.  This includes inspection projects all over North America and internationally.

Accountant

As the company has grown with increasing activity, so has our support team.  Kristie joined the Maverick Team in 2019 as an Accountant.  Kristie comes to Maverick with 25 years of accounting experience.  Kristie has a wide variety of responsibilities including job costing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, tracking of project expenditures and reconciliation of accounts. In her role, Kristie reviews and approves contracts and purchase orders.  Additionally, Kristie manages the company financial database for project and customer tracking and reporting.

Marketing and Business Development Manager

Lydia joined the Maverick Applied Science team in early 2022 as our Marketing and Business Development Manager. Lydia graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Delaware and has experience managing communications for companies, agencies, and persons with various digital marketing needs. With Lydia’s background in digital marketing, content creation, and almost a decade of experience in video production, Lydia is responsible for maintaining and expanding our digital and virtual communications through different platforms and mediums. Lydia is also responsible for the planning and orchestration of our annual Plant Engineer’s Forum.

Mechanical Engineer II

James Pierce, is a Mechanical Engineer II for Maverick Applied Science and is an integral part of our MAS Engineering Team. James has a bachelor’s and Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Florida. James came to Maverick in 2018 and has eight (8) years of engineering, design, inspection, and consulting experience, and is active in the firm’s focus on design, construction and inspection of nonmetallic piping and equipment primarily for the power, pulp & paper, mining, and chemical process industries.

As a mechanical engineer, James is active in Maverick’s engineering group, with a proficiency in advanced analysis, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of static and dynamic structures.  Part of James’ many responsibilities are to conduct failure investigations on equipment and components.

Jose joined Maverick Applied Science in 2017 after culminating in his master’s degree in material science and engineering. In the beginning, Jose was involved in drafting pipe support drawings for the pipe support division. With time, Jose was more involved with our laboratory and all the testing procedures that maverick provides in addition to conducting pipe stress analysis and basic repair procedures. Today, Jose is the lead engineer for the pipe support and material testing divisions.  Jose is currently managing all the pipe support projects from quotes, fabrication, and delivery of the supports. The same activities apply to the material testing division.

Manager of Accounting and Administrative Operations

Lynette joined Maverick in February 2023 as our Manager of Accounting & Administrative Operations. She has over 25 years of experience in accounting, office management, and administration. Additionally, Lynette has extensive experience with Human Resources, payroll, financial statements, budgets, job costing as well as general office administration.

3D Mechanical Designer

Steve joined Maverick Applied Science in 2007 as a Sr Mechanical Designer.  Currently, Steve is involved 3D design and drafting of Pipe supports, FRP piping and other FRP equipment. Steve is also involved with our Destructive Testing Lab where we test material to find physical properties. Steve also supports our inspection team which includes fabrication shop surveillance, site inspection of existing equipment and site quality assurance during construction.  Steve has nearly 30 years of experience in the FRP and nonmetallic industry which includes, design, manufacturing and field installation of FRP pipe, tanks and equipment.
